By the end, you’ll be able to

Every session is built around one question: what would an accountant actually do in a real South African workplace today? By the time you finish, you can walk into any business and do the job.

Process the full cycle

Capture, reconcile and close the bank, debtors, creditors and general ledger, every month.

Handle SARS end to end

Prepare and submit VAT201, EMP201, EMP501 and provisional tax on eFiling, correctly and on time.

Run payroll

Calculate PAYE, UIF and SDL, build a compliant payslip and file the returns.

Produce management accounts

Build a director-ready pack with variances, ratios and plain-language commentary.

Prepare for the AFS

Year-end adjustments, provisions, the PI-score framework and the road to CIPC compliance.

Work professionally

Ethics, confidentiality, POPIA, fraud red flags and the communication that turns a qualification into a career.

What to expect from each session

Twenty-six live teaching sessions run fortnightly on Tuesdays, 16:00 to 18:00 SAST, with a break from 9 December 2026 to 18 January 2027. The two-week gap is deliberate: it gives you time to apply each topic before the next one. Every session gives you the same four things.

Handout

A reference document you keep: checklists, templates and worked examples for the workplace.

Slide deck

Professionally prepared slides covering the definitions, the legislation and worked examples.

Live class

A two-hour trainer-led Zoom session with screen sharing, worked examples, exercises and live Q&A.

Knowledge check

A 20-question check after the session to confirm the content has landed before you move on.

What you can expect from us

  • Live teaching every fortnight, Tuesdays 16:00–18:00 on Zoom
  • A handout, slide deck and recording for every session
  • Content grounded in South African law, SARS practice and real workplaces
  • Individual written feedback on your case study within four weeks
  • A completion certificate, 52 CPD hours and CFAdmin eligibility
  • A trainer who has done the job and guides you through it

What’s expected of you

  • Attend the live sessions, or watch the recording promptly if you miss one
  • Complete the 20-question check after each session, before the next begins
  • Reach at least 60% on each check (one resubmission allowed)
  • Apply what you learn between sessions, not just during them
  • Submit the summative case study by 15 July 2027, achieving at least 65%
  • Work with professionalism, confidentiality and integrity throughout
